Experience on the Trail
The trip starts at the Visitor Centre, followed by a guided visit to the Koněprusy caves, the longest cave system in Czechia. A 5 km trek leads across the Kotýz plateau to Axamitova brána, a natural limestone gate.
A short transfer brings the route to St. John under the Rock, a historic village set directly beneath high limestone cliffs. During the transfer, an optional stop in a traditional restaurant is possible.
The visit includes the Church of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist, a key spiritual landmark of the area. The day can be completed with a 5 km trek to the Solvayovy lomy, offering insight into historic limestone mining.
Important note:
The caves are accessible only on official guided tours run by the cave administration.
